SAGA Northern Fury
"They came from the North spreading terror before them and leaving desolation in their path"
Studio Tomahawk and Gripping Beast Publications are proud to announce a new supplement for SAGA!
Due 1st quarter of 2012, Northern Fury will give you 4 new factions to lead into battle, and contains the Battleboards and rules needed to play these warbands. It also has new Heroes of Viking Age for these factions plus a specially designed multi player scenario which will allow you to form allegiances and vanquish your enemies.
The new factions in the Northern Fury supplement are:-
The Bretons - These warriors fought on horseback using javelins and hit and run tactics to disrupt their enemies before dealing that killer blow
The Jomsvikings - Pagan warriors who's wrath and ferocity was legendry, historians still argue about their existence, but now you can field them in your games
The Scots - Descendants of the Irish migrants established on the western coasts of Caledonia, the Scots whose spears invited death to all who came near
The Anglo-Saxons - Sons of Ælfred the Great, they were known for courage and tenacity in battle, the Vikings feared them and rightly so, at the Battle of Brunanburh the seeds of England were sown
Alongside this publication we will be releasing new ranges of Bretons and Jomsvikings miniatures as well as a host of new "Heroes of the Viking age" to complement the factions to date.
Over the next few months both Gripping Beast and Studio Tomahawk will be publishing articles on their websites which will spotlight each of the new factions in turn and give sneaky peaks of the new figures and rules prior to their release.
SAGA Reprint On The Way
The reprint of the SAGA Rulebook is at the printers and due back mid January. Hourrah!
We have put the SAGA Rulebook and Rulebook And Figure deals up for PRE-ORDER on the website here. We will ship all pre-orders for the reprint and any deals featuring the reprint before the book goes back on general sale.
In case you are wondering, we have taken the opportunity to correct a few mistakes in the reprint and tidy up one or two things but there are no changes to the rules and it is perfectly compatible with the first edition. For a list of the changes, pop to the SAGA Forum and take a look at the new FAQ in the Stronghold section that has been compiled by Chief SAGA Herald Mike Hobbs (A Wholly Owned Subsidiary Of Gripping Beast) and SAGA author Alex Buchel with the help of the chaps on the forum.
William The Bastard
A fantastic scuplt by Bill Thornhill, William comes with a plastic base from Renedra. The William pictured here is the personal collection of Lord S's - not that he would be seen dead using Normans... and was painted by Mystic Spirals.
Rules for using WTB in SAGA are in the main Rulebook. Get him here.
SAGA Baggage
This heavy blister contains a cart drawn by two ponies, a hand cart, a plethora of barrels, sacks, boxes and furs and four civilians plus three large plastic bases from Renedra. You can put them together in any number of ways but whatever you do, you should end up with three baggage elements perfect for The Escort scenario in the SAGA rulebook.
Cart up here.
SAGA Flemish Swords For Hire
The Flems were well known as heavy spearmen and much prized as mercenaries. William had plenty at Hastings.
This blister contains 8 armoured warriors and comes with a doubled-sided card containing background and rules for using the Flemish as Swords For Hire in your SAGA games.
Hire your own Flems here.
Egil Joins The SAGA Fray!
Well known Icelandic psycho and poet, Egil is now available with his own double-sided card containing background and rules for using him as a Sword For Hire in your SAGA games.
Pictured here is Egil from the personal collection of Lord S with a fantastic paint job by Mystic Spirals.
Dare you hire Egil for your warband? The brave go here!
Cold Steel Scenarios
Here are the details including scenarios for our sold-out WAB event in January, Cold Steel. Good news for those that managed to get their place, irritating to those that didn't. Sorry.
